So a client was doubled booked in with me for an appointment July 2019. I didn't speak to the other client but when he found out I was the person double booked in he got very fired up with me for the fact that the receptionist said my name was on the system not his. He started swearing vociferously at me so I left the reception area and waited to be called in.
Iles simply told my GP that a user swore and I left the lobby, as though he swore into thin air when he was aiming his offensive directly at me. Iles clearly didn't believe a word I said and set out to defend everyone blindly. I was always the one in the wrong in his eyes! And why Iles felt the need to tell my GP everything that occurred outside of clinic is beyond me!
The receptionist handled it terribly but Iles said it was a colleague of his and didn't bat an eyelid at this. again the receptionist was in the right and I was wrong again - silly me! Iles secretary Susan Jones was extremely unprofessional - rang me on my mobile giving me an earful on how it wasn't her fault when I hadn't said anything to her about it - she then exclaimed very rudely 'Can I get a word in?' at which point I passed the rude woman blasting my phone on to my husband for him to deal with.
When I sent an email to Dr Iles about it Susan Jones rings me again on my mobile and starts with the other client 'poor young man was simply expressing his vulnerabilities'! Why he was the vulnerable one when he was launching the attack is absurd. I said this was unacceptable as I didn't talk to him yet he approached me and started swearing his head off and shouting but Susan continued to defend the man saying Iles shared that opinion too. I told her to stop talking as she was annoying me but she continued regardless in her defence of this poor young swearing aggressive man, till I had had enough.
The ICO at the time said it was a misuse of my contact details as there was no privacy policy stating how my mobile number would be used - to ring up and pick a fight with me unsolicited! Iles defended her - he told me he would look into the complaint, never apologised but wrote to my GP of all people behind my back giving his side of the story in her defence, and implying I was just kicking up a fuss for nothing.
If you want to see Dr Iles, I would avoid giving his secretary your contact details - from my interaction with her I found her to be loud and rude, is not a people's person and has no interpersonal skills! Needless to say Iles still thinks I'm bonkers for contacting the ICO about anything and has never apologised for this.
