Dr Andrew Iles' constant need to be in the driving seat

So it occurs to me that Dr Iles always needs to be in control. I am aware that my eating disorders/OCDs are my way of controlling my issues from my traumatic past but what's with his need for control? Funnily enough he says he specialises in OCDs.

On 18th July when I was just out of hospital for a suicide attempt, Dr Iles, my private psychiatrist at the time, rang us and said he had Pete Watt, Priory Oxford manager, in the room with him. This gave him, someone who before was quite softly spoken, confidence to shout aggressively down the phone to me that I had ‘broken boundaries’ by complaining and he had done ‘nothing wrong’ - (I now have had answers that totally contradict that btw). He had to be in control and needed Pete Watt to help him be assertive and downright horrible with a vulnerable patient. Unfortunately, with Pete Watt present Iles then leaked confidential information about my offspring to Watt, data which he had no right to hear!

So as all my abusers wore suits when they assaulted me and doctors don't usually wear full-on matching pinstripe intimidating suits with tie etc, I asked Iles' secretary if she could ask Iles to remove his suit jacket in clinic as it triggered me. she said he would do as it was a reasonable request. He, however, flatly refused saying it was 'professional me' and after leaving me very uncomfortable throughout the session, wrote to my GP that I had made an unreasonable demand asking him to remove his jacket (without putting it into any context at all!). again, all about control.

He copies letters to people he shouldn't then sends me a letter cancelling my appointments the day prior to discharging me behind my back. This letter had no cc: on it. Yet when I see that letter on my medical record which he sent to my GP it has cc: my Gp's name on it, my copy didn't have a cc!!!!

He gets back from holiday after discharging me to find a subject access request, seems to panic that I may see my medical records and find out what he'd written which was untruthful and not very flattering about me to say the least and contacts my GP surgery to ask them to withhold my medical records from me (I had already obtained a full copy by then). when the manager refuses to entertain a call from him and tells him once and for all to get my permission before sharing my data, he ignores this and writes a letter to them! Then he writes to us saying if I don't give him the info he wants - the name of my new psychiatrist (at which point I had none as Iles discharged me to no one!) then my GP will give him the info he wants. Turns out the GP hadn't agreed to this at all!

If you want the master of all control freaks - Iles sent some letters to me which I deemed to contain unpleasant content. I specifically told him in writing not to send me any more letters - like at all ever, saying I was annoyed and upset by them. BANG - he sends another to my inbox. So I write again by way of reply - stop sending me letters, under no circumstances are you to write to me again as it is highly upsetting, BANG few days later - ANOTHER LETTER to my inbox! Its ridiculous - I know he read my emails asking him to stop as he replied to other points - he simply ignored the requests to STOP! The man needs to be in control, needs to have the last word and doesn't know when to stop when someone has clearly drawn a line in the sand.

see - I told you so!
